Butterfly Kisses

Carousels and wishing wells

Butterflies and daffodils

When little girls wore ponytails and thought mom hung the moon

*

Sweet silly grins, giggles and smiles

Catching some sunfish on summer-lines

filling up jars with fireflies _

Oh my, how time flies by too soon.

*

The read me one more_

but do the voices this time.

Come on mom, let’s go round the block one more time.

Oh how tired I was, but those kisses and hugs -make me wish that those days were still mine.

*

What a wonderful gift.

Just Being their mom.

Weeks were long, but the days -flew by fast

Holding on to these thoughts makes me feel warm inside, special memories of moments now past.

*

I’m proud they’re grown up,

doing things that they love.

Busy lives, making their way through life.

And we talk on the phone, about things going on -and they say when they can, they’ll stop by.

*

Its just how it goes, day by day, year by year -

Growing up moving on, letting go

It a passage that we all have to go through.

and I wouldn’t trade even one day-

Just to hear my kids say mom, I love you
