How can they tell you, if you’re not listening ?

*

Little eyes filled up with tears,

little hands with no control.

A tiny voice that no one hears,

a lost, abandoned soul.

*

They look for help, but no one sees,

we are all preoccupied.

Another one falls through the cracks,

how many have to die?

*

It’s everywhere,

its on the news .

Another child,

broken and bruised.

*

We shake our heads,

say what a shame.

but, that child deserves much more!

What we forget is, he has a name,

what are we waiting for?

*

How many babies have to pay

until we begin to make a change?

Waiting for someone else to stand,

before we show outrage!

*

These children are a priceless gift,

not tools to use for spite.

A monthly payment, cash in hand,

property being used to win a fight.

*

Hiding wounds caused by neglect,

to scared to say a word.

Voiceless victims too small to fight,

an angel who couldn’t be heard.
