The alarm clock sounds it’s warning

is it really 6 am?

I roll over for a moment,

to escape the traffic jam.

Of the tasks to do today,

all my busy, premade plans.

So I yawn and stretch awake,

encouraged by the weatherman.

I climb into the shower,

the water greets a warm hello.

I smell the the coffee start to brew,

feel the blood inside me flow.

Reflect again on past events,

the celebrations come and gone.

I wander wrapped inside my towel,

and wonder what I should put on.

The TV catches my attention,

another scene of gathered crowds.

protecting rights of one another,

tempers and voices getting loud.

I look again at my reflection,

and ask her, what is going on?

Why can’t we get this figured out?

This struggles been going on so long.

I take a deep breath and remember,
