My Monster
I am restless and lazy like the clouds in the sky
Moved only by the struggles and storms that pass by
Oh to be like the lightning flashing wild in your eyes
But I’m the remnants of branches that you blindly walk by
I’m bold and assuming I am sweetly unkind
I will give you the best and the worst of my mind
My intentions are far better than the deeds I perform
I can be cold and standoffish, but I long to be warm
If you could see past the mask and love the monster inside
If you would follow the path of the tears I have cried
You would discover a love that grows more lovely with time
Instead I’m left living with this monster inside
