The Stage Is Set

When someone shows you who they really are,

you’d better damn well believe it!

Stop ignorantly ignoring those colorful flags,

with the pretty lies they spout to deceive.

How they react and carry on,

tells you the gritty, painful true story.

Slow down and pay attention,

or you’re bound to end up sorry.

They sneak and scheme to stay ahead,

and keep you in the dark.

All along with disregard,

of the pain they cause a heart.

A child, friend or lover,

doesn’t matter much who you are.

The stage is set for only one,

and they’re the only star!
