The Storm:

You’ve got my heart second guessing

what your mouth speaks.

and my head seeking help , like on a hyperlink.

Our past reminding me of what we’ve been through.

and I don’t know how I feel about engaging you.

*

Don’t get your vibe man, you don’t treat one’s you love, like that.

hard to know if you’d protect or even have my back.

I’m having issues believing anything. you say,

And, if I’m honest, I make excuses for how you behave.

*

How do you sit there, pretending. everything’s alright

we’re ok, I turn around, and then you start a fight

I just don’t get how quickly your emotions turn around

Just like a lightning bolt striking hard, without a sound

*

I’m like a chaser chasing down vicious thunderstorms

Caught off guard when the wind and. hail comes

close my eyes, hold on tight, waiting for all clear

When all of the anger and struggles disappear

*

Till next time, it’s all sunshine and rainbows here

Nothing to worry about, no worries or scary things to fear

But I’ll prepare for the next storm, like a hurricane

Cause we both know that storm will be back again
