We Remember: Happy Memorial Day

Thirty first day in May, whilst flowers bloom,

In the year of nineteen seventy one.

Giving honor to those who fought in troop,

A day to show we shan’t forget, begun.

With pride now take this time, to thank you,

For with fear did go, family left behind.

we met, not once, bravery shown through

Gave all you had, each other now remind.

A poppy grows for fallen, for me paid.

For sacrifice and bravery you gave

A gift of freedom is what does remain

Today, for you we all will celebrate

My country tis of thee, we still sing

Proud, we will make you, let freedom ring
